A visual note · Slow afternoons
Stay for the light.

There is a point in the afternoon when the light softens and nobody feels like checking the time. The water is still warm. A drink sits half-finished. Someone suggests staying a little longer.
That is the mood we keep coming back to: an ordinary day with enough space for something lovely to happen. Take the swim. Leave your shoes beside the door. Let the last part of the afternoon belong to itself.
Try leaving one part of the next afternoon unscheduled. The photograph can bring you back to it later; first, let yourself notice what is happening around you.
